Malin Head
1902 - 2014 Photograph

Below are two photographs both taken on the 2nd January. One was take in 1902 sometime during the morning and the other in 2014 at 1400 hours in the afternoon, some 112 years apart.

The flying of flags to celebrate an occasion or an event is one of the oldest customs in the navy. On this day in January the flags would have been flying to celebrate the opening of the wireless radio station. Navy personal were clearly seen in the photograph below.
